I know this blog entry has nothing to do with public relations, but so what. Maybe you could consider this entry PR for our nation.
On this Memorial Day, I’m thinking of my dad who served as a US Navy pilot for 25 years from 1945-70. He served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and once told me he had flown more than 20 different airplanes during his career. After his passing, my Mom reminded me that he flew with John McCain (yes, the John McCain) in VT-9 at NAS Meridian, MS before McCain went to Vietnam where he was shot down and was imprisoned for several years. My Dad taught me to love Red, White, and Blue and that freedom isn’t free. I still like the smell of jet fuel exhaust and love military aircraft.
Do you have a vet you are remembering this Memorial Day weekend?
