PilmerPR Named Finalist in Golden Spike Awards on Fourth Anniversary

SALT LAKE CITY - November 7, 2007 - PilmerPR was named a finalist today in the prestigious Golden Spike Award for excellence in Publicity and Media Relations Tactics. The award, recognizing excellence among Utah’s public relations and corporate communications professionals, was announced at a ceremony at the Wells Fargo Building in downtown Salt Lake City.

“Becoming a finalist for the Golden Spike Awards is an honor, and it further validates the time and effort we dedicate to our clients,” said John Pilmer, president of PilmerPR. “As we continually raise the bar in media relations, it’s great to be singled out as experts in our field and recognized alongside other great Utah communicators.”

PilmerPR was named a Golden Spike Award finalist for their work with Certiport, a Utah-based company that prepares individuals worldwide with current and relevant digital skills and credentials for the competitive global workforce. PilmerPR successfully promoted Certiport’s PATHWAYS Conference, resulting in 10 major media hits reaching more than 10 million readers.

The timely announcement came as PilmerPR began celebrating its four-year anniversary, beating the odds of small business failure and joining the ranks of only 44 percent* of small businesses that make it to their fourth anniversary. Since it was founded in 2003, the firm has received multiple awards. This is the first time the company has won a Golden Spike Award.
