PilmerPR Recognized by Chamber for Five Years of Sustainable Business Practices
SALT LAKE CITY – October 23, 2008 – The Provo Orem Chamber of Commerce today named PilmerPR, LLC the Home-based Business of the Year. PilmerPR received a Sen. Arthur Watkins award honoring business owners and community leaders at a ceremony at Utah Valley University.
Celebrating five years in business this month, PilmerPR has remained vibrant by becoming a trusted advisor in the areas including clean technology, social responsibility, and green PR, while sharpening relevant skills. The company’s emphasis on sustainable practices that provide efficiencies to clients while improving the environment were recognized as contributing factors in the Chamber’s announcement of the award.
“We’re pleased to be recognized as a successful virtual public relations firm,” said John Pilmer, President of PilmerPR. “Receiving this award as we celebrate five successful years of service to our clients makes it even more distinctive. While the general U.S. business climate is hitting rocky shores, PilmerPR clients continue to grow, due in part to well constructed public relations strategies in their chosen business sectors. Our solid business practices and skilled staff provide a platform for continued success.”
With more than 75 years of collective experience in public relations, the staff at PilmerPR has remained current on emerging trends in social media, search engine optimization (SEO), and environmental sustainability. For example, PilmerPR’s efforts on behalf of ElectraTherm have resulted in international attention for the newcomer to the alternative energy market.
“The press relations campaign driven by PilmerPR around the launch of our new ElectraTherm Green Machine has brought new top tier investors and customers to our door,” said Bill Olson, Vice President of Business Development at ElectraTherm. “PilmerPR has assisted greatly in driving publicity that has moved the needle for our strategic objectives.”
Since it was founded in 2003, the firm has received recognition for its work from organizations such as Bulldog Reporter, Public Relations Society of America, and Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum. PilmerPR has also been named a finalist for the upcoming awards from the Society for New Communications Research in Cambridge, Mass. In 2008, two PilmerPR clients, AdvancedMD and Seastone, were named among Inc. Magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing Companies in America.
The PilmerPR team has more than 75 years of collective experience in marketing and public relations with specific backgrounds in high-technology, engineering, retail, real estate, print journalism, social media, search engine optimization, travel, music and rapidly rising area of green PR.
